Quick summary of the past two years: I left Joanne's PHP and eventually went to work at another PHP, where I've been for a year and a half. I am fairly satisfied with my job.

I have survived financially because I now have a sort of fairy godmother. All I have to do is call, and she will bail me out. She can easily afford to do this. I have known her for almost forty years, but our relationship never involved this sort of thing until I hit a real crisis in early 2005, and she offered immense amounts of assistance (would have paid for me to go back to seminary, if I had wanted).
